Brunei Energy Services & Trading (BEST) is looking for a General Manager (Plant) to lead the overall operations, strategic direction, and performance of our plant. This role requires a dynamic and results-oriented leader to oversee daily plant activities, drive operational efficiency, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and align plant objectives with the company’s long-term business goals. The Plant Manager will coordinate closely with cross-functional teams, including Maintenance, HSSE, Finance, Supply Chain, and Business Management, to deliver sustained growth, effective risk management, and operational excellence.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and operational performance of a plant.
- Develop and execute the plant’s long-term strategic plan in alignment with the company’s vision and goals.
- Provide decisive leadership and direction across all departments to ensure efficient operations and sustained growth.
- Establish, monitor, and review key performance indicators (KPIs) for the entire plant.
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring seamless production, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Coordinate cross-functional collaboration among the Plant Manager, Maintenance Manager, HSSE Manager, Business Manager, Finance & SCM Manager, and Audit Manager.
- Serve as the primary liaison between plant operations and corporate leadership, providing regular updates on performance, challenges, and strategic opportunities
- Ensure that all plant operations comply with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
- Oversee risk management and internal audit processes, ensuring timely resolution of identified issues
- Work closely with the Finance & SCM Manager and Business Manager to ensure sound financial management, cost control, and profitable growth.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, with extensive experience managing multi-functional teams.
- Experience in oil and gas related matters would be an added advantage.

- Excellent financial and business analysis skills and understanding in contract negotiations;
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability with positive working attitude;
- Must be well organized, work independently & have the ability to multi-task, lead and work in teams;
- Must be able to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
- Good command of spoken and written Malay and English languages.
