Description
We are looking for a highly experienced and technically strong Finance Manager (Upstream) to lead and manage all financial aspects related to our upstream oil and gas activities. This includes statutory compliance, governance, financial reporting, joint venture management, project finance, and tax planning. You will also act as a key advisor on PSC and PMA financial matters, supporting both operations and new business development.
Main Responsibilities
- Upstream Finance & Governance
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and project accounting for upstream assets, affiliates, and joint ventures.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, tax laws, PSC/PMA terms, and company financial policies.
- Manage accounting classifications, financial controls, and internal governance.
- Review and advise on PSC, PMA, JoA and JVA financial terms.
- Business Advisory
- Provide financial insights on technical and strategic decisions.
- Conduct due diligence on potential partners, vendors, and customers.
- Support the financial evaluation of new upstream business ventures.
- Treasury & Tax
- Oversee banking relationships, cash flow, and working capital management.
- Ensure compliance and timely submission of all applicable local and international tax requirements.
- Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the Finance team to build internal capabilities.
- Ensure alignment with BEST’s Code of Conduct and HSSE policies.
- Champion continuous improvement across finance processes and reporting.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional accounting certification (CIMA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum 14 years of relevant experience, with at least 8 years in upstream finance (E&P), PSC, or PMA environments.
- Strong understanding of IFRS, GAAP, and petroleum fiscal terms.
- Proven experience managing financials for complex upstream projects and joint ventures.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, and decision-making under uncertainty.
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Able to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Results-driven with a commitment to excellence and integrity.
