Description
We are seeking a Senior Associate – Business Development to identify, evaluate, and execute new business and investment opportunities in line with the Company’s growth strategy. The role involves screening and developing potential deals through structured investment maturation processes, conducting market and financial analysis, supporting negotiations, maintaining robust economic models and budget systems, and providing commercial and investment inputs to project funding, partnerships, and decision-making processes to support sustainable business growth.
Main Responsibilities
- Locate or propose potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities.
- Execute new opportunities through the Investment Maturation Guideline; Screen, Identify, Select, Define and Execute, by developing proposals considering analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investment.
- Develop negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals.
- Provide investment analysis to evaluate the feasibility of projects and facilitate the investment decision-making process including business drivers identification for growth projects and existing operational assets.
- Ensure all project economic models are updated regularly along with sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis in order to fully understand and implement value drivers that could significantly enhance project returns.
- Provide necessary input into project funding discussion, MOUs, business model discussions, strategy, routine and special revenue and government share reports preparation, etc.
- Manage the economic model system consolidation and Budget Planning Consolidation (BPC) system.
- Assist relevant Project Leads or Business Managers in formulating the required position papers in order to ensure that appropriate mandates are provided.
Position Requirements
- A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Economics/Finance
- Minimum of 3–5 years of extensive working experience in oil and gas industry involving market analysis, economic evaluation and/or business development
- A high level of numeracy and very strong business analytical skills are essential
- Required to demonstrate business acumen. First rate communication (both written and verbal) and a track record of effective team working, preferably knowledge of facilitation techniques and enthusiasm for learning through experience both inside and outside own technical discipline.

- Must be able to work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines;
- Good command of spoken and written Malay and English languages.
